Peter: The Newest “Twinkie the Kid”!

They’re Twinkies, that Hostess baked sponge-cake confection that’s been around since the early 1930’s. After nearly 100 years, you’d pretty much figure everyone on the Earth has tried one. So it came a bit of a shock on National Twinkie Day (yes, its a real thing), where we learned that Peter, the Hawk’s morning co-host and Al Roker-like weatherman somehow had been missing out on this treat for his 40+ years. Simply said, he had never tasted a Twinkie!

So off we went to secure a box of these vanilla cream-filled treats. Interestingly, at least one Twinkie has been documented to “live” unwrapped for more than 43 years but that’s another story for another time. This day was about Peter and his first taste of heaven in a Hostess wrapper. And the jury is now in…
