Buckner grew up in the outskirts of Seattle. When he was 13 years old, something amazing happened – grunge music! Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden changed how the world looked in the Pacific Northwest. Since the year was 1992, there wasn’t something called the internet to get your favorite songs, YOU HAD TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO! After listening to 107.7 The End for many years, Buckner went to college and decided to try his hand at radio for an elective, and it was all downhill from there! He worked for CBS in Seattle for 3 years after college and after legendary Seattle DJ Bob Rivers told young Buckner to leave Seattle radio to come back some day, he headed to Montana for his first morning show on FM 99 The Mountain! 2 years later he found himself in the wilds of Rapid City, South Dakota doing mornings on the legendary KSKY, Hot 93.1 and Xrock. The Black Hills, with the great skiing and Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, still wasn’t enough to keep Buckner away from venturing to the beauty of Southern Utah! His first job was afternoons on 99.9 KONY Country, then mornings on 96X, and has now teamed up with the powerful Gina on the Rock & Roll Morning show on 95.9 The Hawk!

When Buckner is not radio-ing, you can find him at a car show, cross-fitting, hiking Zion, or skiing at Brian Head. His three favorite Hawk bands are AC/DC, Van Halen and The Rolling Stones.

Gina was born and raised in the beautiful state of California. In the fall of 2004, she ventured to her local radio station in an attempt to win a pair of Dodger Playoff tickets. Not only did she win the tickets, but she also landed a job at the station. Gina often regards that day as “one of the best days of my life.” She had the radio bug. Gina is a lover of animals and the outdoors. When she isn’t at the station, you can find her at the nearest lake or trail head, listening to music with her dog Axel. In 2015, she had the opportunity to join the Canyon Media family here in St. George, it was a dream come true for her – a radio gig with an outdoor playground right in her backyard. Some of Gina’s favorite Hawk artists are Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart & Santana.
