Journey’s 50-year-old drummer, Deen Castronovo, is set to go to trial in October. Castronovo faces several charges including first-degree rape.
Castronovo was previously arrested mid June and charged with fourth-degree assault and menacing. His bail was set at $20,000.and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim. Castronovo posted bail and ignored orders not to contact the victim.
The Journey rock star was then again arrested June 29. According to the indictment, Castronovo was arraigned June 30 on five counts of fourth-degree assault, one count of first-degree rape, two counts of menacing, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of second-degree assault, one count of second-degree sex abuse, one count of coercion, one count of second-degree criminal mischief, and three counts of contempt of court.
While Castronovo has been currently replaced for Journey’s summer tour, there is no word as to whether he will be kicked out of the band.
