Just a couple of months after losing a loved one, Mick Jagger is now celebrating new life. The UK’s “Daily Mail” is reporting that the Rolling Stones frontman became a great-grandfather over the weekend with the birth of his granddaughter Assisi’s first child. The 21-year-old new mom is the daughter of Jade Jagger, Mick’s only child with his first wife, Bianca. And Assisi’s newborn daughter, whose name hasn’t been announced yet, is just the first of two special deliveries the Jagger family is expecting. Jade is also pregnant with her third child, who is due in a few weeks.
Back in March Mick’s longtime girlfriend, L’Wren Scott, took her own life just days before the Stones were to kick off their Australian tour. The band has rescheduled their trek “down under” for the fall. The Stones are set to relaunch their “14 On Fire” tour in Norway next week.
Judas Priest is giving fans another preview of their upcoming album. A new website video features the track “March of the Damned.” The clip includes a short introduction from Glenn Tipton, who says it’s one of his favorite songs. The guitarist adds that the track is “not really” about zombies, but honors the unity between the group and their followers.
“March of the Damned” is the second song Judas Priest has unveiled from their next album, “Redeemer Of Souls.” The band previewed the title track last month. The disc is Judas Priest’s first album in six years, following 2008’s “Nostradamus.” It’s also their first studio project to feature new guitarist Richie Faulkner, and their first album without founding member K.K. Downing. “Redeemer Of Souls” will be released in the U.S. on July 15th.
