Heavy metal called wanting it’s stones back, and the Iron Maiden frontman answered the call.
Bruce Dickinson is the wearer of many hats. Not only is he an astounding vocalist, jumbo jet pilot and all around rock star, he’s doing what rock stars should be doing. Making his own brew. In a world where rockers like Bret Michaels are making dog toys, (my dog Ulysses has one of them by the way) Bruce is making beer. He said in an interview, “As a fan of traditional English cask beer, I thought this actually be something really exciting, We could actually develop a proper, real, long-term beer.”
It’s called “Trooper” ale and I honestly don’t even care what it tastes like, I will buy. You can check out their website at www.ironmaidenbeer.com. It says there that it has “malt flavors and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops.” The brew has an alcohol content of 4.7, and has a “subtle hint of lemon.”
When it came to naming the new oat soda Bruce said, “Trooper just leapt out and grabbed us straight away.” Trooper Premium British Beer will be available in the U.K. and elsewhere starting in May 2013.
What a great guy, right? Here’s to you Bruce Dickinson, and your ale!
