Ready to rock out for Coachella this year? It gets bigger every year, now taking place over TWO weekends. While there are a LOT of modern and younger bands at the show, I was stoked to see some classic artists on there as well for 2013. Jello Biafra of 70′s punk band The Dead Kennedys, as well as New Order, Dinosaur Jr. Not to mention Lou Reed and a band you MIGHT have heard of before The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Sweet!
The Chili Peppers have been tapped as the closing night headliner, while Reed is on board for the first night of the three-day event. A host of other bands, including the Stone Roses, Blur, Modest Mouse, Social Distortion, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, are also slated to appear. Meanwhile, the Rolling Stones are not part of the festival’s lineup. While the rock legends were rumored to taking part in the event, the Stones don’t appear on the rundown of performers. The band has also denied that they were ever involved in the show.
Coachella takes place in Indio, California over two weekends in April, with the first starting on the 12th, the second on the 19th. Go to Coachella.com for tickets
