(Murphy) If you have learned anything from my first seven months of me residing here in southern Utah, is that The Big Lebowski is my favorite movie of ALL TIME. Pretty much anything the Coen Brothers touch is gold, but that’s not how The Big Lebowski was received initially when it hit theaters back in 1998. However, after the dismal box office numbers it had at the time, it’s been now ranked up with some of the biggest cult classics of all time. With the same amount of “Achievers” (fans). Lebowski Fest is a multi-city annual event, that originally started in 2002 in Louisville, KY. The Festival’s main event each year is a night of unlimited bowling with various contests including Costume, Trivia, Hardest and Farthest Traveled contests and much more. They of course also screen the film.
Now for quite sometime I’ve been trying to get them to throw one in Vegas, but this year the closest it comes is Los Angeles, The City of Angels. I am far too busy and poor to make it to L.A. this time around, but if you’re a fan like I am of this movie (seen it over 100 times) you know if they ever hit Vegas, I’ll take work off for that!
This year they have the actor who played “Woo” (the carpet pee-er), and the gal that played the waitress in the famous coffee scene with Walter (John Goodman) and The Dude (Jeff Bridges). Also, The Kyle Gass Band (1/2 of Tenacious D) will be performing. What a show it’ll be.

One of these days I’ll make it to one. The Dude Abides. Takin’ ‘er
easy for all us sinners.
